Certified training for Casting or Foundry Assistant/Helper (programme aligned to ASC/Q 3201 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)

The tasks a Casting or Foundry Assistant/Helper is expected to perform include:

Supporting pre-casting and post-casting operations

Removing the finished goods from the casting block

Storing the output at the designated place

Cleaning the slag from the furnace before the next batch

Cleaning and lubricating the die

Pouring the metal in the furnace in the prescribed quantity

Knowledge of the different types of casting processes

Familiarity with techniques to remove slag from the furnace

Knowledge of the properties of various types of metals used

Familiarity with the safety precautions to be taken for casting activities

Skilled in different parameters related to casting; for example temperature, pressure etc.

Knowledge of cleaning and lubricating agents

Familiarity with the measuring instruments used in casting

Basic knowledge of reading engineering drawings

Basic knowledge of 5S principles

Manual dexterity

Training in basic casting and housekeeping skills Training in 5S and safety

Quality conscious

Safety-oriented

It is not a desk job

Working is 9 hours every day for 6 days a week
