The tasks a Wood Sawyer, Hand is expected to perform include:
Operating hand saw to cut logs in to planks or wooden boards of required sizes
Fixing wooden props or supports at convenient height to place log of timber for sawing and placing it securely over supports at inclined position
Selecting saw of appropriate size and with assistance of helper cuts or saws log or timber along marked line from one end
Knowledge of different kinds of wood
Proficient in operating hand saw
Proficient in marking lines on the log or timber for cutting it to required sizes
Ability to insert wooden or metal wedges between cut slit along marked line
Knowledge of sharpening saw teeth with file
Ability to work singly to size planks to required dimensions using ripsaw
Diligent and hardworking
Dexterity of hands
Ability to focus for long hours
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to work independently
It needs one to be on their toes
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is a part of this job

The un-organized sector for the furniture market is at 10 % and growing at about 35 % CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate). Furniture segment compromises of 65 % of the home market and 35 % of institutions. The entire home d?cor category spends furniture accounts about 68 % of the share while remaining 32 % comprises of furnishing and home investments. Imported furniture constitutes to 85 % of the total organized furniture.
