Type Caster

The tasks a Type Caster is expected to perform include:

Operating type-casting machine for casting types for printing

Selecting and fitting appropriate metal mould and matrix to machine, depending on size and nature of types to be cast

Setting up machine to required performance, aligning matrix and moulding using gauzes, screws etc., and closing die case bridge of machine

Switching on electrical mechanism in machine or lights coal in fire-box below lead chamber to heat metal pot to melt lead blocks

Checking and maintaining correct temperature of molten lead to ensure proper moulding

Starting machine, opening water circulation system of machine to cool dies during casting operation and observing machine pumping molten lead into die mould, casting types and delivering caste types along table channel

Knowledge of cleaning lead chamber and nozzle of plunger of lead chamber with metal rod

Well-versed in removing slag from molten lead chamber periodically to keep molten liquid free from impurities

Ability to fill lead chamber with lead blocks for melting

Proficient in checking whether caste type conforms to specifications

Knowledge of cleaning and oiling the machine

Knowledge of cleaning and dressing caste types

Knowledge of casting brass or other metal types

Diligent and hardworking

Result-oriented

Follow instructions

Accuracy in work

It needs one to be on their toes

Need not handle a team

Local travelling is not a part of this job

Working hours
Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from company to company
