The tasks a Painter, Industrial is expected to perform include:

Applying paints, varnish and other similar materials to building and other structure using painting brush or spray

Ensuring that the object gets desired shade, colour and finishing

Proficient in selecting and mixing paint materials or pigment, oils and other ingredients in proper proportions to obtain desired colour, shade and consistency

Knowledge of paint composition and colour harmony

Well-versed with choosing right paint applicator for each job depending on the surface to be covered, characteristics of the finish and other factors

Adept at selecting right paint or finish for the surface to be covered based on durability, ease of handling, method of application and customers wishes

Proficient in preparing surface to be covered using scrapers, abrasives, chemicals removers to ensure paint adheres properly

Knowledge of removing old coat by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning or watering and abrasive blasting

Well-versed with washing surface and trimming to remove dirt and grease from the surface

Adept at filling cracks and holes with putty or filler to provide smooth clean surface

Knowledge of applying primer on new surface for the finish coat

Well-versed with raising, draining or wiping coated work area to remove excess coating material or to facilitate setting of finish coats on work area

Well-versed with applying one or more coat of paint material to get required finishing

Adept at examining finished surfaces of work to verify conformance to specifications; and retouching any defective areas

Well-versed with erecting scaffolds to facilitate work

Knowledge of inspecting work pieces to determine work procedures and materials required

Overview of Building, Construction and Real Estate Sector in India

Construction Industry plays a major role in the economic growth of a nation and occupies a pivotal position in the nations development plans. Construction industry in India is highly unorganised and employs most labourers, second only to the agriculture sector.
