Minimum 1 year of work experience as an unskilled helper in lieu of minimum educational qualification

The tasks a Straightening Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

Operating hydraulic, mechanical or pneumatic straightening machine to straighten girders, bars, tubes, joints, plates, angle irons, rails etc to required accuracy

Setting metal on machine bed, locating bent portion of the metal, manipulating hand wheel of the machine, adjusting the stroke of ram to required pressure, etc.

Locating the bent portion of the metal to be straightened

Starting the machine and manipulating the wheel to lower or raise moving ram of the machine over the metal

Adjusting the stroke of ram to required pressure and changing the position of the metal as required

Ensuring accuracy of the work being done

Oiling and cleaning of the machine if required

Conducting minor repairs to the machine if needed

Detailed knowledge of all parts of the machinery

Technical knowledge of the working of the machinery

Knowledge of the all the functions that can be performed by the machinery

Well versed with the basic techniques of maintenance and repairs of the machinery
