The tasks a Distributor Sales Representative is expected to perform include:

Generating sales for mobile handset and related accessories

Handling/Escalating retailers?complaints and queries

Meeting the sales goals as per organisation?s target matrix

Handling cash related transactions

Increasing width and depth of distribution network as per the Beat plan and Route plan

Well-versed with current schemes and offers for the retailers

Knowledge of merchandising elements like danglers, flex boards, standees, etc.Proficient with Route plan and Beat plan

Understanding of products on offer

Well-versed with payment collection and claim settlement process

Basics of commercial accounting like handling outstanding, cash, debit, credit, etc.Knowledge of company?s product offerings vis-?-vis competitorsproduct

Training in basic computer literacy

Good communication skills

Patient

Clear diction

Self-motivated

Ability to influence

Proficiency in regional language

Good negotiation skill Team player

Ability to handle work pressure

Current and Future Trends of Indian Telecom Sector in India

Telecom is one of the fastest-growing industries in India. Today India stands as the second-largest telecommunications market in the world. The mobile phone industry in India would contribute US$ 400 billion in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) of the country in 2014. India?s Global System for Mobile (GSM) operators had 4.14 million rural subscribers as of January 2014, bringing the total to 285.35 million.

The Broadband services user-base in India is expected to grow to 250 million connections by 2017, according to GSMA. It also expects to see increased mobile Broadband penetration in India, with over 250 million on either 3G /4G by 2017. This has turned tide for the telecom sectorin India, as growth and profitability has accelerated in recent times. Increased penetration into rural markets as well as growth of mobile internet and broadband services are the key growth drivers for Indian Telecom Industry. This sector which is growing exponentially is expected to generate about 40 lakh direct and indirect jobs over by 2020, as per Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA).

As per the Telecom Sector Skill Council report, sales and distribution function of telecom service providers hire 27% of the total employees. This would translate to an incremental human resource requirement in sales functions like Distributor Sales Representative and others.
