The tasks a Cashier, General is expected to perform include:Making and receiving payments and maintaining a record of the cash transactions in bank, office, commercial and industrial establishments
Receiving the cash remittances from the customers
Maintaining the cashbook and other account registers
Verifying the statement of account from other daily records of actual receipt and payment
Keeping the cash and other valuables in strong rooms or vaults for safe custody
Rendering a periodical report on cash transactions to superiors
Making the payment of wages and salaries to the staff against acquaintance rolls, pay bills etc.
Proficient in counting cash and examining currency notes and coins to detect counterfeit ones
Well-versed with making entries in receipt registers, initials vouchers and passing them to superiors for signature
Well-versed with receiving passed cheques, bills, vouchers, etc. and making payment to parties after making entries in the register
Knowledge of preparing the statement of monetary transaction of receipt and payment made during the day
Proficient in verifying the statement of account from other daily records of actual receipt and payment
Well-versed in drawing or depositing money in treasuries or banks
Knowledge of receiving foreign currency and making the payment in local currencies to clients
Knowledge of preparing a periodical report on the cash transactions
Good numerical skills
Good mathematical skills
Ability to check the various cash registers of Shroff to scrutinize the accounts
Knowledge of assisting the Accountant in the preparation of budgets, balance sheets, etc.Ability to supervise the work of Shroffs, Money Testers and Bill Collectors
