The tasks an University and College Teacher, Engineering is expected to perform include:
Teaching university students one or more subjects related to architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering, chemical engineering, metallurgy, mining, surveying, fuel technology, soap technology, textile technology or other branches of engineering and technology
Delivering lectures and guiding laboratory work
Setting examination papers, conducting examination and marking papers
Conducting or guiding research work
Skilled in preparing and assessing examinations
In-depth knowledge of any one field of engineering and technology
Skilled in conducting research, writing thesis and publishing them
Knowledge of all the latest developments in the field of Engineering
Ability to teach the students effectively
Basic knowledge of people/child psychology
