The tasks a Physician, Sidha is expected to perform include:

Examining the patients by interrogation, sight, feeling pulse rate, etc.

Using the panjabutha theory and 96 thathuvas

Diagnosing ailments and prescribing necessary medicines according to Sidha System of treatment

Questioning patients about nature of ailment, previous history of disease, etc.

Diagnosing ailments by feeling pulse, examining abdomen, colour of skin, eyes, tongue, etc. of the patient

Observing the urine, stool and sputum, if necessary

Applying findings for diagnosis and treatment

Using modern equipments in diagnosing diseases

Prescribing medicines such as Legiams, Bhaspams, Kasayam, Chooranam, Senthooram eye ointment, etc. for treatment

Specializing in skin disease, eye disease, peptic ulcer (without operation), etc.

Prescribing medicines for general improvement of health

Skilled in doing eight kinds of tests to diagnose ailments and prescribes necessary medicines according to Sidha System of treatment

Detailed knowledge of medicines such as Legiams, Bhaspams, Kasayam, Chooranam, Senthooram eye ointment, etc.

Proficient in panjabutha theory and 96 thathuvas
