The tasks a Nurse, Specialist is expected to perform include:

Performing tasks similar to those of

Nurse, General

Specialising in a particular branch of nursing such as obstetric, orthopaedic, paediatrics or psychiatric nursing

Providing assistance to anaesthetics

Assisting the

Surgeonduring operations

Knowledge of patient profiling i.e. taking vital parameters

Skilled in assisting doctors/consultants in routine patient consultations and any related procedures

Proficient in counselling patients

Knowledge of handling and assisting in ECG, TMT assessment

Skilled in drawing blood samples in absence of phlebotomists

Proficient in handling diabetes patients in the clinical unit

Efficient in supporting end to end clinical operations like attending patients, MIS reports, handling telephone calls for patients and support to other staff members

Skilled in handling podiatry, other diabetes care POCs and other specialised equipment upon appropriate training

Skilled in working as podiatry assistant for all the clinical requirements of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in the area of medical expertise

Proficient in observing, assessing and recording symptoms, reactions and progress of the patients
