The tasks a Sound Engineer is expected to perform include:

Designing acoustic constructions and installing, operating and maintaining audio systems for transmission of voice in studio broadcasting, public address systems and for recording sound for motion pictures.

Setting microphone and sound recording equipment close to artists or speakers in suitable manner to achieve best results

Recording sound impulses (dialogues, speeches, songs, etc.) on special media like discs, film, magnetic wire or tape (film) using sound recording equipment

Examining developed sound for clarity

Recording songs, dialogues, etc., in studio from old or unsatisfactory films or new magnetic tape or wire

Playing sound recorded on magnetic tape for broadcasting or for procuring positive, films (tapes) by using special electronic equipment

Checking whether the sound recorded on film meets acoustic standards and synchronizes correctly with actions

Instructing the Recordist for correct recording and specifies, developing requirements to develop on processing of sound films

In-depth knowledge of designing installing, operating and maintaining acoustic and audio systems

Knowledge of using microphone and sound recording equipment,recording sound impulses on special media like discs, film, magnetic wire or tape (film) using sound recording equipment

Working knowledge of recording songs, dialogues, etc., in studio

Knowledge of playing sound recorded on magnetic tape for broadcasting or for procuring positive, films

Knowledge of acoustic standards and synchronization

Knowledge of repairing and overhauling sound recording equipment

Knowledge of studio design, broadcasting, recording, etc. Knowledge of dubbing films with different sound recordings

Good communication skills

Keen sense of hearing/sound

It is not a desk job

The role does not involve team handling

Travelling is required for the job

Working hours

Working is 5/6 days a week and minimum of 8/9 hours every day. However, one can expect long irregular working hours
