The tasks a Quality Control Chemist is expected to perform include: Performing routine analysis in the lab on semi-finished and finished samples, etc. in compliance with good manufacturing practices and good laboratory practices
Conducting physical inspections in the department
Approving batches and incoming raw materials and classifying their physical and chemical identity
Reviewing and tracking non-conformances and quality control data
Preparing and standardizing volumetric solutions within the expiry date
Assisting in the preparation of specifications, general and standard test procedures
Reviewing categorization of samples and parameters to ensure instrument calibration is as per schedule
Performing testing of batches/samples for which complaints are received
Assisting in investigating root-cause of deviation and identifying corrective and preventive action
Checkingandinspectingtheupkeepofinstruments,equipment,etc.Troubleshooting of malfunctioning instruments
Operating and maintaining all analytical instruments
Testing in-process/input raw materials, packing materials, in-process samples and finished products
Testing process validation samples, product stability samples and cleaning validation samples (rinse samples/swab samples, etc.)Performing routine analysis in lab
Maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment Co-ordinating with Supervisors and colleagues within and outside the department
Reporting and documenting to meet quality standards
Performing quality checks
Expertise in pharmacopeia
Knowledge of the composition/requirements of the products manufactured
In-depth understanding and knowledge of good manufacturing practices, good laboratory practices and standard operating procedures
Knowledge and exposure to relevant ERP systems
Working knowledge of analytical instruments and equipment
Understanding of the nature of reagents and solvents1 year of training for entry level Chemist (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices training
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, government rules and regulations and standards of manufacturing
Basic knowledge of formulation and APIBasic understanding of the fundamental science of API production
Basic knowledge of various documentation as per GMP and QMS guidelines Ability to analyse data, pharmaceutical analytics and process safety analysis
